Jorge Miranda, MD, RPVI

Vascular Surgery

Dr. Jorge Miranda is a vascular surgeon with an interest in complex procedures for limb salvage, aortoiliac aneurysmal and occlusive disease, and cerebrovascular disease. Dr. Miranda is passionate about the development of new endovascular technologies and the creation of access to them for underserved areas and disadvantaged communities.

Dr. Miranda holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Texas at El Paso, a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Texas Tech School of Medicine, and completed his postgraduate training in vascular surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Miranda has received several honors and awards, including the 2nd place plenary presentation at the Texas Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in November 2021 and the Center of Excellence in Health Equity and Research Scholarship from Baylor College of Medicine in July 2020. He is Board Eligible/Qualified by the American Board of Surgery and earned the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation® (RPVI®) certification which is the highest certification for vascular ultrasound interpretation.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Miranda is actively involved in research and has received support from various funding agencies. He has served in elected positions in professional societies such as the VSCORE Advisory Board, the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery Research Committee, and as the Site Co-Director for the Vascular Surgery COVID-19 Collaborative (VASCC) Project.

Dr. Miranda’s dedication to research and education in Vascular Surgery makes him a valuable asset to the medical community and his binational background brings an additional understanding of cultures to his practice to help him better serve international communities.
