Jennifer R. Cozart, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Cardiovascular Surgery
Jennifer R. Cozart, M.D. is a highly skilled surgeon with extensive experience in cardiovascular, thoracic and general surgery procedures. Her practice encompasses all aspects of these fields, with a special focus on minimally invasive cardiothoracic and endovascular techniques. She is also committed to raising the awareness of and treating cardiovascular disease in women.
Dr. Cozart holds a medical staff appointment at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and The Texas Heart Institute in Houston. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas in 2003 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 from The University of Texas at Austin. Upon completion of a General Surgery Residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2008, she completed a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Residency at The Texas Heart Institute and Baylor College of Medicine.
She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and licensed to practice medicine by the State of Texas. Dr. Cozart is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. She is also an active member of numerous medical and scientific societies including the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Denton A. Cooley Cardiovascular Surgical Society, Society of Thoracic Surgery, and Women in Thoracic Surgery.
