Jorge M. Escobar, M.D.
Jorge M. Escobar, MD, is an interventional and clinical cardiologist specializing in peripheral and coronary interventions and mechanical circulatory support.
Dr. Escobar received his medical degree from the Universidad del Norte in Barranquila, Colombia in 2004. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Houston, followed by fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at The Texas Heart Institute and Baylor College of Medicine. In addition to his position with The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care, Dr. Escobar is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at the UTHSC.
Dr. Escobar is certified in both Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has COCATS level II certification from the National Board of Echocardiography and the National Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and he is certified as a Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support provider by the American Heart Association.
