Zvonimir Krajcer, M.D.

Dr. Zvonimir Krajcer has been a practicing cardiologist since 1977 and a member of The Texas Heart Institute’s Professional Staff Leadership team – while serving as Director of Peripheral Vascular Diseases. Dr. Krajcer completed his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Northwestern University and subsequently at Baylor College of Medicine. He is a founding member and a former president of The Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society. Dr. Krajcer is an active member of The Texas Heart Institute Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center teaching staff, where he trains the next generation of physician-scientists and interventional cardiologists. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine/Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine. His leadership and commitment to important international research and education collaborations is globally impacting the care of patients suffering from vascular diseases. Dr. Krajcer is an internationally recognized pioneer in his field and is the immediate past President of the International Society for Endovascular Specialists, which is dedicated to the advancement of vascular and endovascular therapies.  He has organized over 20 national and international meetings as a program director. He is also an editorial board member of several prestigious cardiovascular journals and serves as Chief Editor of The Texas Heart Institute Journal. Since 1996, he has participated as a co-investigator and principal investigator in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease, Abdominal and Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms, Carotid Artery Stenosis, Venous Disease, and Percutaneous Heart Valve Replacement. He is one of the pioneers of Percutaneous Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (PEVAR), which utilizes fast track protocol under local anesthesia and percutaneous approach.
